POSITION SUMMARY Directs and coordinates activities of team member engagement in procurement and internal movement and processing of commercial parts, equipment, machinery, and supplies supporting the manufacturing, installation, and customer support by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for purchased material logistics and supplier qualityExecutes active resource management to prevent manufacturing bottlenecks and ensure on time deliveryManages supplier base to ensure efficiency/quality/price performance and established monitoring measures and communication systems that drive vendors to continuously improveManages and supports organizational controls, regulations, and practicesMonitors the timely and accurate placement of purchase orders and receipt of materialReviews and analyzes company inventory and stocking levels based on company objectivesResponsible for freight cost, delivery timing, and communicationMaintains supplier KPIs of on-time, on quality, and on-cost performanceIdentifies new suppliers and maintains alternative supplier relationshipsAnalyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reportsProvides the organization with timely and accurate status reportsEnsures the timely and accurate placement of purchase orders and receipt of materialsPrepares and issues purchasing orders and discrepant material notices in a timely mannerMust be able to understand engineering drawings and communicate technical information to potential suppliersSUPPLEMENTAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Interprets and enforces company policies and safety regulationsMust be able to understand engineering drawings and communicate technical information to potential suppliersIdentifies and arranges for disposal of surplus or stagnant material inventoryProvides performance and developmental feedback to peers and direct reportsFacilitates supplier, facility lease, and equipment rental cost negotiationsCollaboratively works with corporate supply chain counterparts to drive process improvementsDevelops and installs procedures and practices, studies workflow, sequence of operations, and office arrangementsEnsures the proper and timely training of reporting personnelOther duties may be assigned as requiredSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Manages, inspires, and motivates up to 50 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
