Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager will execute the global sourcing strategy and manage purchasing activities. This role supports productivity and other key business metrics, as well as new product development initiatives. The position will work closely with Operations management and internal customers such as Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering and Sales. Additionally, the Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for developing and deploying best practice strategic sourcing and purchasing processes.
Primary Functions:
- Develop, execute and support sourcing strategies that encompass supplier assessments and onboarding; supplier rationalization and optimization; and optimized supply chain formulation and best cost
- Effectively manage and develop team members (currently one direct report)
- Plan, organize, and influence the efforts of domestic and global suppliers
- Conduct commercial negotiations, manage contracts and prepare quotes
- Make sourcing recommendations for new product development programs
- Qualify products, parts and suppliers
- Support Quality and regulatory compliance
- Accountable for supplier and commodity spend management and productivity generation, execution and tracking
- Own purchasing from placement of purchase order to receipt, including identifying the demand need and determining the proper order quantity. Work closely with the Purchasing Analyst to manage these tasks.
- Use Supplier Scorecards to develop and improve supplier performance in the areas of quality, delivery, cost and responsiveness
- Actively participate and serve as Project Manager in new product development teams while also serving as the primary liaison to the supply base
- Support Supply Chain initiatives, such as Lead Time Reduction, Order Quantity Reduction, and Payment Terms extensions
- Manage vendor and part data within the ERP system
- Implement sourcing and purchasing process improvements
- Supporting capacity planning, Heijunka & scheduling activities

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience
- Five or more years' experience in areas of sourcing, manufacturing, engineering, or supply chain. Experience sourcing machined or manufactured metal components, plastics, raw material metals, or importing finished goods is preferred.
- Experience with international sourcing, including sourcing in Asia
- APICS certified CPIM or CSCP preferred
- Lean Manufacturing Principles experience preferred
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job including:
- Safely navigate a manufacturing environment
- Extended periods of sitting and using computer equipment
- Perform occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
