We are seeking a detail-oriented Supply Chain Buyer / Material Planner to manage procurement, material planning, and logistics for defense programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing, supplier management, and inventory control within a highly regulated industry. This role requires strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Procure materials and components in compliance with FAR, DFARS, and government regulations
  • Develop and manage material planning strategies to support production schedules
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and cost-effective purchasing
  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and logistics teams to optimize supply chain flow
  • Analyze inventory levels and adjust procurement strategies to minimize shortages or excess stock
  • Support contract negotiations and supplier agreements
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting for compliance and audit requirements
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to track orders, deliveries, and inventory levels
  • Identify and implement cost-saving and process-improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years in procurement, material planning, or supply chain management
  • Experience in a defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated industry preferred
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Background Requirements:

  • Must pass a background check, employment verification, and substance testing
  • Employment contingent on obtaining/maintaining security clearance if required
