The purpose of the Supply Clerk position is to assist with administrative, logistics, and supply support to the Tarheel ChalleNGe Academy.

Job duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

Conducting inventory of clothing and equipment and surveying for serviceability. Restocking supplies as required. Preparing Hand-Receipts, Property Books, and Document Registers. Process clothing records for issue and turn-in postings. Providing supply assistance during acclimation phase. Conducting day-to-day supply actions over the counter. Conducting turn-in and pick-up of supplies at USPFO / DPS. Conducting laundry and linen turn-in and issue twice per week. Assisting in procuring supplies from local vendors as required. Obtaining and maintaining a current CDL (Passenger Bus) License. Overseeing vehicle maintenance to include: quality control, scheduling, shuttling, log preparation, and pick-up of vehicles. Conducting Property Book inventories as required.

This position requires the ability to:

* Understand and follow oral and written instructions.

* Have physical strength to lift and move relatively heavy objects (i.e. furniture, etc.).

* Utilize tact, patience, and superior organizational skills.

* Ensure accuracy in work performed, such as inventory counts.

Note to Current State Employees:

The salary grade for this position is NC01. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

About The Tarheel ChalleNGe Academy:

The Tarheel ChalleNGe Academy is a quasi-military style residential program for at risk youth 16-18 years of age, and is sponsored by the North Carolina National Guard. The mission of the Academy is to redirect the efforts of young adults who have had trouble succeeding in the normal high school environment and give them the skills to become productive citizens in their communities.

To qualify for this position, applicants must demonstrate ALL of the following KSAs:

* Experience with inventory recordkeeping methods and/or procedures.

* Experience using Microsoft Office; specifically Word and Excel.

* Experience using computerized procurement or inventory systems.

* Experience conducting manual inventory counts and making rapid mathematical calculations.

* Ability to lift and move relatively heavy objects (i.e., furniture, etc.)

PLEASE NOTE: This position requires the selected applicant to:

* Obtain and maintain a CDL Class A License throughout the tenure of employment

* Complete the following training provided by TCA: Staff Acclimation Course, Foundations Course, Gang Awareness / Conflict Resolution, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training, and Hands-Off Training

* Maintain CPR certification (re-certifies every 2 years)

* Per 5 CFR 731: upon appointment, applicant must be able to obtain a favorable suitability and fitness determination from a Tier 1 background investigation conducted by the Office of Personnel Management. Failure to obtain a favorable determination may result in termination of employment.

Military Experience
