LocationThe City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. We work to prevent abuse by providing education, resources, and support to parents, families, and community organizations.Denver Human Services is seeking a committed, passionate Support Coordinator Social Case Worker to serve our Child Welfare Services Clients.Overall, the Support Coordinator Social Case Worker:
- Receives on-the-job training on acceptable case work methods and techniques in order to perform a variety of case management functions
- Provides clerical and supportive services to staff within the Child Welfare Division
- Identifies appropriate and available services for families as well as documenting case plan information
- Provides a variety of ancillary assignments as needed including preparing and maintaining records, completing required forms and reports and entering information into our Trails database
- Makes contacts with collaterals and community partners such as law enforcement, school personnel and medical professionals to obtain case information, coordinate services and/or secure assistance
- Attends training sessions to learn concepts, principles, practices and application of case work, studies applicable rules and regulations, and receives instruction in the interpretation and application of appropriate laws, rules, regulations, and procedures
- Trains and assists in interviewing clients and family members, documenting family history, assessing family barriers and needs, and in developing treatment plans
- Receives training and instruction in identifying and interpreting social, occupational, and environmental factors related to a case and the internal and external resources available
Additionally, the Support Coordinator Social Case Worker:
- Performs increasingly more responsible work as the employee gains experience and independently provides basic case work services
- Assists in the establishment and maintenance of case files, records, and other required documentation and the preparation of periodic reports
- Assists in the coordination and delivery of services to clients and family members
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Represents the department in accordance with CDHS and city rules and regulations
- Employees may be re-deployed to work in other capacities in their own agencies or in other City agencies to support core functions of the City during a City-wide emergency declared by the mayor
- Any one position may not include all of the duties listed. However, the allocation of positions will be determined by the amount of time spent in performing the essential duties listed above

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Guidance and Counseling, or a related field
- Experience Requirement: None
- Education/Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted
- Licensure: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
