Job Description :

Do you have a flair for creativity and design? Are you analytically minded and enjoy problem-solving? As a Support Engineer at Oberg Industries, you would be working on a diverse set of projects, assisting in translating ideas into innovative opportunities for our customers. You will play a critical role in ensuring a quick turnaround to our customers on precision machined components delivery dates and supporting the manufacturing process.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

* Create CAD models based on provided specifications for programming and manufacturing purposes.

* Detail individual components to create a working drawing.

* Design and detail slot dies and scroll dies.

* Independently process traditional tooling orders for the Oberg Freeport division.

* Independently process traditional metal packaging orders for the Oberg Freeport division.

* Enter job details and manage workflows using ERP system.

* Collaborate with shop personnel to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing challenges.

* Review technical drawings to ensure dimensional accuracy and logistical feasibility.

* Communicate with customers to discuss specifications and/or requirements necessary for component manufacture.

* Work closely with Quotations team, providing appropriate information including print interpretation and plot support.

* Other related duties as assigned.

Educational Qualifications and Specific Skills:

* Minimum of a High School diploma, 2-year Drafting/Design Technical degree preferred.

* Previous experience using CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD preferred).

* Must possess knowledge of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.

* Must have a working knowledge of manufacturing practices.

* Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings.

* Must be able to create models and detail drawings in CAD.

* Working understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.

* Able to use basic quality inspection equipment.

* Must be able to communicate through written, verbal, or other means of communication with both internal and external customers.

* Must be able to understand written correspondence.

* Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

* Must be a U.S. citizen or be able to comply with U.S. export regulations.

* Must be able to wear personal protection equipment, such as earplugs, safety glasses, and safety shoes.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly have to travel through other departments. The atmosphere is a climatic office setting, and the employee will spend the majority of time sitting at a computer terminal. This position requires on-site work. Remote work options are not available.
