We are currently seeking a Support Mold Maker/Grinder Operator with the following qualifications:
SUMMARY OF ROLE
The focus of this position will be to grind components on the wet and manual grinders, operate heat treat ovens and support Lead Mold Makers with mold build tasks as directed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet or exceed all quality requirements, scheduled hours and dates for all tasks at all times
Maximize efficiency by working to minimize time charged to components
Maintain an attitude of Continuous Improvement. Make suggestions for improvements
Maintain a department that is neat, organized, and clean at all times
Goal is a self-sustaining department to meet all requirements of internal customers
Specific Responsibilities:
Navigate and use the schedule to pick and complete components in the right priority
Grind components square, within all dimensions and quality standards as required
Grind round components utilizing equipment to do these components within all dimensions and quality required
Record steel inspection as required
Laser engrave components to print and process
Carry out tasks for tool building under the direction of the Lead Mold Maker
All work to the satisfaction of the internal customer (Program Managers / General Operations Manager) & Westfall Engineering guidelines
Complete and or coordinate all inspection of finished components internally and with quality department as needed
Adjust schedule as needed. Coordinate with shop scheduler. Mark as complete on department schedule and as ready for the next operation in the next department if applicable
Make suggestions for equipment, software, training, and resources that would improve department efficiency
Responsible for Department Housekeeping, Cleanliness, and Organization as required
