A Brief Overview / Un Breve Resumen
Responsible for providing support to people with intellectual or developmental disabilities by presenting opportunities to access the community, creating a positive environment, assisting with daily living activities, and helping people in their homes.
- Communicate clearly with others in a respectful and professional manner.
- Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate records.
- Support activities of daily living as needed including eating, toileting, bathing, dressing, mobility, transferring, and supervision.
- Transport people safely to and from activities and appointments.
- Assist people with entering, seating, and exiting a vehicle.
- May assist with housekeeping, grocery shopping, cooking, laundry, or money management as designated in service plan.
- Load and unload supplies.
- Complete and pass required trainings.
- Provide opportunities for community access by attending and participating in activities and events.
- Assist people with mobility and transfer according to safety protocols.
- Maintain compliance with all agency or government requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
- Valid Drivers License required for some services.
- Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written forms.
- Ability to use a smartphone, computer, and a tablet to access electronic timekeeping systems and email.
- Analytical thinking skills to solve routine problems using common sense.
- Basic time management skills.
