The Support Representative II works closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to provide administrative duties in a health care facility. Working under some supervision, this job is responsible for obtaining registration and financial data for registration; registering patients; scheduling patients for initial evaluations and follow-up appointments; interpreting charge information and collecting payment from patients at time of service; maintaining, copying, and retrieving medical records; and performing other general office duties as needed.
Schedules outside services for patients and coordinates care with referrals for providers.
Pre-authorizes testing through required insurance carriers; determines co-pay and deductibles by compiling insurance data.
Records patient information including insurance eligibility, test results, medical history, and physician referrals.
Assembles, compiles, and maintains patient records and charts; files and faxes records requested by outside offices.
Retrieves inbound faxes from insurance companies, test results, pharmacies, and consultations from physicians.
Assists with credentialing by processing applications to meet insurance and facility requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION:Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:Required: 1 year
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) (CPR) American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
