Job Title: Support Specialist

Location: Easley, SC

Reports To: VP of IT

Job Summary: The Support Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support and maintenance services for all IT-related equipment at Patriot Hospice. This role involves ensuring the proper functioning of laptops, desktops, phones, printers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment. The Support Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the technology infrastructure and providing excellent support to staff, enabling them to deliver high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • IT Equipment Installation and Setup:

  • Install and configure laptops, desktops, printers, phones, and other IT equipment for staff use.

  • Set up and maintain servers, routers, switches, and firewalls.

  • Maintenance and Repair:

  • Perform routine maintenance on IT equipment to ensure optimal performance.

  • Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues promptly.

  • Upgrade and replace hardware components as necessary.

  • Technical Support:

  • Provide first and second-level technical support and assistance to hospice staff for all IT-related issues.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with software, hardware, and network connectivity.

  • Assist with user training on IT systems, software, and best practices.

  • Network Administration:

  • Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

  • Ensure network security and compliance with IT policies.

  • Assist with network troubleshooting and optimization.

  • System Administration:

  • Manage and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights.

  • Ensure proper configuration and deployment of IT systems and applications.

  • Support and maintain IT infrastructure for both on-site and remote staff.

  • Orientation and Staff Training:

  • Conduct IT orientation sessions for new hires to familiarize them with the organization's technology systems and protocols.

  • Develop and deliver ongoing training programs for staff to ensure they are proficient with IT systems and tools.

  • Create and update training materials, user guides, and documentation to support staff education.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of IT installations, maintenance, and repairs.

  • Document and report any recurring issues or major repairs to the VP of IT.

  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology or related field; or equivalent technical training/certification.

  • Previous experience in IT support or related roles.

  • Strong technical, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.

  • Experience with hardware and software maintenance.

  • Knowledge of network and system administration.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to train users.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Frequent standing, walking, and bending.

  • Ability to travel to different hospice locations as needed.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, with occasional on-call duties as needed.
