ResponsibilitiesThe Supervisor performs day-to-day operations under the direction of the department operations director and the medical director of Radiation Therapy. Daily operations include scheduling radiation therapists to appropriate levels to safely operate/perform CT planning and radiation treatment of the day's workload, reporting issues that can affect operations and patient care and safety, as well as any concerns and issues brought by patients, staff, or physicians. This position also functions as a Radiation Therapist, administering therapeutic radiation as ordered to facilitate accurate treatment delivery and in accordance with state and federal regulations. The Radiation Therapy Supervisor works closely with the Radiation Oncologist, Medical Physicist, and Dosimetrist in planning courses of radiation therapy by performing radiation dose distribution, position and dosage calculations, and constructing treatment devices. This individual provides clear communication within the department and assists in the maintenance and repair of radiation equipment. This position performs training, education, payroll, and corrective actions, works to ensure all therapy equipment service issues are addressed timely, and communicates effectively with Dosimetrist, Therapists, Nursing, Physicist, and Physician. This position communicates directly with the Operations Director and assists in maintaining departmental accreditations at all levels.
