Surface Grinder Maple Grove, MN Currently looking for skilled individuals to fill the position of direct hire Surface Grinder III opening with a company located in Plymouth, MN. Interested candidates should have experience producing tight tolerance parts in both production and prototype environments and be GD&T certified. Surface Grinder Job Description:

• Efficiently use machine tools and time to make quality parts
• Setup and run high complexity parts with tight to very tight controlled forms or features
• Highly efficient use of precision measuring equipment
• Inspect parts for print conformance using surface plate inspection techniques
• Create and apply new and complex work holding and fixtures
• Setup new and repeating high complexity parts
• Maintain a rolling 12-week average setup and run time efficiency of 75% or higher
• Create new or use established processes to hold part tolerances as tight as +/-.000/-.0001
• Competently complete secondary operations such as deburring
• Perform basic machine preventative maintenance activities
• Collaborate with production management, engineering and quality to establish effective processes
• Run multiple machines at once whenever jobs permit
• Work efficiently with a team to achieve production goals
• Train, mentor and coach other team members
• Miscellaneous activities as assigned by Manager

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Associate's degree in Machine Tool Technology preferred
• 5+ years of experience in machining
• 3+ years of experience working in ISO or AS workplaces
• Experience producing tight tolerance parts in both production and prototype environments
• GD&T Certification required
