This positioninvolves covering a wide range of orthopedic trauma cases, includingorthopedic/hand surgery and pediatric orthopedics. The locum physician willwork with a dynamic surgical and clinic team, handling a mix of cases in boththe operating room and clinic settings. The position requires flexibility inscheduling, as days will vary depending on the needs of the operating room. The Orthopedic Surgery Physician will beresponsible for providing comprehensive orthopedic care, including managingtrauma cases, hand surgeries, and pediatric orthopedics. This includesperforming 3-5 surgical cases per day in the operating room, as well asmanaging 20-25 patients per day in the clinic. Typically, the schedule consistsof 2 days in the operating room and 3 days in the clinic, though this may varydepending on operating room needs. The physician will collaborate with theorthopedic team to develop treatment plans and provide follow-up care, ensuringcontinuity of care for patients. Additionally, the physician will be requiredto cover 6 days of call each week, unless otherwise requested for a 7-day callschedule.
Qualifications: - Must be comfortable managing a broad range of orthopedic trauma cases, including hand surgery and pediatrics.
- Experience in a Level III Trauma Center is highly preferred.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Active NY State Medical License (or ability to obtain a temporary locum license).
- Must have at least 3-5 years of experience in orthopedic surgery.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
