Surgical Advanced Practice Provider PA/NP / Overview SURGICAL ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER

We are seeking to employ a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with first assist experience or a new candidate that recently completed PA training or a surgical residency.

LOCATION: UHS Wilson Medical Center located in Johnson City, NY.

JOB SUMMARY: Excellent opportunity for an experienced APP to work in a hospital-based operating room setting and function under the supervision of an attending physician.

- First Assistant in a variety of specialties: General, Head & Neck, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Vascular, Plastics, Neurosurgery, and Thoracic Surgery

- Morning rounds

- Pre-op and Post-op surgical patients

- History and Physicals on routine and emergent admissions

- Perform surgical consultations

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

- 2 years of First Assist Surgical experience or new PA or NP with surgical training or completion of a surgical residency

- Excellent suturing technique

- Comfortable working independently performing invasive procedures ie. central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, dialysis catheters, incision and drainage

- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

- Strong work ethic

Active Board PA/NP Certification Required

New York State License Required

Job Type: Full Time with a vast array of benefits including retirement

Pay: $60.80 - $64.17
