Surgical Scrub Technician - TRAVEL ONLYStatus: Full-TimeShift: Mon-Fri Days and EveningsShift Length: 8 Hours (3p-11:30p)Pay Range: $64.40 / hourContract: 13 weeksLocation: Rochester, New York (Must be more then 50 miles away from facility)Job Summary:A Surgical Technician, or Surgery Technician, is responsible for assisting with surgical procedures in an operating room. Their duties include gathering and organizing all surgical tools needed for a procedure, monitoring a patient's vital signs throughout surgical procedures or assisting surgical teams by handing them tools and re-sterilizing the operating room post-surgery.Supervisory Responsibilities:•Supervises care given by nonprofessional staff and provides instruction as needed.Duties/Responsibilities:•Setting up the instruments and equipment that is required for the procedure•Sterilizing equipment and taking an inventory to ensure there are enough supplies for surgery•Preparing the patient for surgery•Passing the Surgeon instruments and sterile supplies throughout the operation•Taking a count of all surgical instruments and supplies prior to the operation •Recounting surgical instruments and supplies at the end of the operation•Maintaining an overall sterile environment throughout the surgeryRequired Skills/Abilities:•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.•Excellent time management skills.•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.•Strong supervisory and leadership skills.•Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Education and Experience:
- Current license to practice in NEW YORK state.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
- Experience in Ortho, Neuro, Robo, GYN, Urology, General and Vascular necessary
- Travel experience required.
- Must be a CERTIFIED TECH and have BLS certification
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
