Job Description: My client is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead and manage field survey operations. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills and technical expertise in land surveying. The Survey Crew Chief will work closely with project managers, clients, and field crews to ensure accurate and efficient data collection and project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of survey crews on various projects, including boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys.
  • Operate and maintain survey equipment, including GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, project specifications, and company standards.
  • Perform field calculations, data collection, and quality control to ensure accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients to address project needs and expectations.
  • Document and submit accurate field notes, sketches, and reports.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in land surveying or related fieldwork.
  • Proficiency in modern surveying equipment and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble, Leica).
  • Strong understanding of land survey principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in surveying or related field preferred.
