Apply Job Type: Full-time Survey Party Chief Role Description: Huitt-Zollars has an immediate full-time Survey Party Chief opportunity in the Prescott, AZ office. The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of combined experience in all phases of land surveying, construction, boundary and topographic surveying. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a premier architectural and engineering firm that's on the leading edge of design and national development. Location: Prescott, AZ Employment Type: 40 hrs/Full-time Compensation Type: Hourly Duties: Independently performs surveying assignments, making exact measurements, and providing data relevant to the shape, contour, location, elevation and dimension of land or land features. Operates and maintains all instruments and measuring devices including levels, robotic total stations, GPS equipment and data collectors. Knowledge of Trimble Field Equipment and data collector software. Download and upload survey data to data collectors and office computers. Mentor and train other staff. Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment. Experience in office preparation of survey drawings using AutoCAD software, a plus. Key Responsibilities: Understands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process. Productively collaborates with others and leads or encourages teams to achieve success and camaraderie amongst each other. Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations. Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current. Assist with appropriate administrative and project support tasks supporting the needs of the project team and office. Complete assignments on-time, within budget, and with highest level of quality. Routinely proposes and produces more effective ways to accomplish assignments. Qualifications: Minimum 10 years land surveying experience. High School diploma or GED required. Working knowledge of surveying. Highly motivated. Ability to work well in a team environment. Good written and verbal communication skills. Basic math skills. Ability to operate Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Trimble GPS Equipment, data collectors, digital levels, and other related equipment. Valid Driver's License. May lift and carry up to 50 pounds, hike up and down steep slopes carrying up to 50 pounds of survey equipment. The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities. Employee may be asked to walk on uneven terrain. May work in extreme weather conditions. Bend, squat, dig monument holes, pound in stakes and rebar monuments. Carry and use brush cutting equipment.
