Summary: Perform various construction surveying related task utilizing Trimble GPS, survey, and CAD software in order to produce clear, complete, and concise results in a timely manner. Location will be at projects throughout the Palm Beach County
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Train, educate and assist field personnel in the use and operation of Machine Control GPS equipment
* Site localization and set-up, pre-surveys, production surveys and as-builts as necessary
* Verify Machine Control calibrations, maintain and troubleshoot GPS problems when necessary
* Perform site staking/layout and grade checking as necessary
* Produce quantity reports for project managers and superintendents
* Practice good recordkeeping skills for survey logs and records
Requirements:
* Strong mathematical skills.
* Excellent Communication skills both oral and written when working alongside all levels of management, co-workers, vendors and clients
* Experience with Trimble data collection software & surveying equipment
* Proficient with MS office software
* Experience with drafting software (AutoCAD, Carlson) preferred
* Ability to read, analyze and interpret civil plans and specifications
* Must be a motivated self-starter, team player with the desire to learn and advance
* Must be able to work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking and standing on uneven terrain and variable weather conditions
* Must be willing to travel. Moderate to extensive overnight travel
* Must possess clean driving record to drive company vehicle
Education and Experience:
* AAS/Technical Certificate in Geodetic/Surveying or 1-3 years related field experience
