Responsibilities:
About the role:
The SVP IT Infrastructure Solutions oversees the planning, administration, and technical oversight for service operations that cover a wide range of infrastructure systems supporting GM Financial operations, including data communications, pSeries and Intel server platforms. The SVP IT Infrastructure will be responsible for determining, evaluating and diagnosing network and server performance issues and recommending and implementing solutions to ensure services are running at optimum capacity.
In this role, you will:
- Direct the daily operations and functionality of all computer hardware related peripherals, LAN/WAN network, business applications and ERP systems
- Provide leadership and guidance to engineers in the planning, design, and implementation of server platforms Ensure that all servers are running at optimal capacity
- Test, evaluate and identify deficiencies related to reliability, interoperability and maintainability of new network hardware and software prior to deployment
- Work with other engineering and telecom groups to architect, develop, and implement strategies to achieve the optimal use of both public and private network facilities for data networks including voice-over-IP
- Direct and coordinate all data comm and server operations to ensure stable operation of IT assets Analyze and forecast Network/Server resource requirements including personnel, software, equipment facilities
- Review all levels of design concepts and present, where required, to senior management all options and recommendations based on needs analysis
- Establish measurable standards for service levels of response time, availability and tracking within acceptable performance variables Establish and implement Network, iSeries, pSeries Intel server policies, procedures standards
- Maintain proper security levels to protect the network from internal and external events that would be detrimental to business
- Provide contingency and disaster recovery planning for all aspects of the data network environment
- Provide planning recommendations on emerging products or technologies and recommend new product concepts to meet evolving network and service requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Experience:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience required
- Greater than 10 years of progressively responsible experience in network engineering including extensive experience and technical knowledge in LAN's, WAN's, VPN's, server and desktop management required
- 8+ years of experience supervising technical teams required
- 8+ years of ?project management experience preferred
- Subject to stressful situations
- Some travel required

Compensation: Competitive salary and bonus eligibility; this role is eligible for company vehicle program.
