System Administrator

The Hub, a division of Spafax Airline Networks, is a well-established and respected post-production facility located in the heart of Hollywood and the Media District. The Hub is seeking an IT (Information Technology) specialist to join our business-critical IT/Media Engineering team. Candidates should be motivated self-starters, comfortable scouring online resources for solutions and applying learning in a full production environment. Training and mentoring will be available, while initiative and project management will be key to career progress. This position will be required to be on premises and may require after hours and weekend support as needed.

Key Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Data Centre maintenance and Network management (upgrades, drive replacement, battery replacement, network architecture, etc.)
  • Hardware installation and management (e.g., servers, network switches, media appliances)
  • Ownership of specific initiatives/projects to modernize our media post-production processes
  • Project management of approved initiatives (research, budgeting, evaluation/testing, and training)
  • Network evolution (network architecture, storage, security, and monitoring)
  • Ensure best practice for appropriate security and recovery posture
  • Participation and liaison in media security audits including design/documentation

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Windows and Linux Server deployment and configuration
  • Windows and MacOS Client system setup and administration
  • Knowledge of Windows Domain Control concepts, security groups, user authentication and login etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues (IP addressing, subnets, subnet masks, gateways, layer2/layer 3 routing, etc.)
  • Understanding of media workflows, ffmpeg, digital file formats and overall digital media concepts
  • Ability to engage with senior leaders and management in a professional manner
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with coworkers
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deliverables with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Full knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and other office related products

Required Education or equivalent years of experience:

  • Related Associate degree (computer science, software engineering or similar)
  • 4+ year(s) of experience in an enterprise IT (Information Technology) or media production environment
  • Prior experience in Media & Entertainment/Post-Production preferred
