Primary Purpose:
Systems Administrator - Microsoft 365 is a key leadership role within the IT Infrastructure organization and is responsible for a range of solutions that enable all employees to be productive through intuitive and user-centric services. From growing and developing an end user computing services team to defining procedures, setting service standards, defining SLAs, etc. The role requires a self-starter with strong technical knowledge, but equally focused on customer service, continuous improvement, and optimizing the global support model.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Defender.
- Manage user and group provisioning, permissions, and licenses across the Microsoft 365 environment.
- Monitor and ensure the health and performance of Microsoft 365 services and take appropriate action when issues arise.
- Configure and manage security and compliance features such as data loss prevention (DLP), retention policies, and encryption in Microsoft 365.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft 365 applications and services, including email delivery, SharePoint access, Teams functionality, and OneDrive synchronization.
- Perform regular system audits and ensure compliance with corporate security standards and industry regulations.
- Provide training and support to end users regarding Microsoft 365 tools, ensuring maximum adoption and productivity.
- Manage Microsoft 365 security and identity services, including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access, and Azure AD.
- Create and maintain documentation for Microsoft 365 configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Stay current with Microsoft 365 updates, new features, and best practices to continually improve the environment.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that Microsoft 365 solutions integrate smoothly with other enterprise applications and IT infrastructure.
What we would like to see from you:
- Proven experience as a Microsoft 365 Administrator or in a similar role supporting Microsoft 365 services.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Security & Compliance Center.
- Experience with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and user identity management.
- Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation and administration of Microsoft 365 environments.
- Experience in Microsoft 365 security features, including conditional access, DLP, and Microsoft Defender.
- Certification in Microsoft 365 (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Associate) is preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with project management tools including Jira, Zendesk, Asana.
- Experience driving a collaborative culture that values technical depth, accountability, and customer service.
- Ability to lead global teams consisting of internal employees and external service providers.
- Strong management skills with the ability to develop teams and cultivate talent.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Typical Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 4+ years' experience in managing Endpoint Devices
- Retail / eCommerce company experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 features, functionalities and automation.
- In-depth understanding of Azure Active Directory.
- Strong customer service, communication and problem-solving skills.
