SNC is seeking a visionary and highly skilled Systems Engineering Lead to spearhead the development of cutting-edge open architecture Systems Engineering (SE) standards and methodologies. As the SE Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development, and management of sophisticated system models and processes to become standard throughout the organization. Your expertise will steer the development of an independent research and development (IR&D) open-system architecture. In this dynamic role, you will: • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deploy model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and techniques. • Investigate Government Reference Architectures (GRAs): Provide program inputs based on experience with and knowledge of existing GRAs. • Guide Strategic Implementation: Provide strategic guidance on the most effective models and levels of detail that will yield maximum value for the project. • Lead a small team of SEs to develop process documentation and a reference architecture. The ideal candidate will possess: • In-depth system's engineering expertise: Extensive experience with system engineering tools and methodologies. • Practical Insight: A keen understanding of how to leverage MBSE to optimize project outcomes. Responsibilities: Define and manage system architectures, interfaces and requirements using MBSE tools Lead the implementation of the MBSE methodologies for the program Develop and maintain the system models using SysML to ensure design consistency, traceability, and integration across multiple programs Define and document system architecture requirements and ensure traceability to system models Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, cybersecurity engineers and system safety engineers to ensure that architecture design is reuseable, scalable, and certifiable Ensure documentation is sufficient to guide future program development. Lead creation of internal reference architecture. Work closely with other programs to develop services and components, to include building system models that will represent system performance attributes so that key performance requirements can be tracked and analyzed through the program Lifecyle. Must-haves: Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience Higher education may substitute for relevant experience Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams Knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles Experience with MBSE language and tools (e.g. SysML, Cameo, etc) Experience leading teams in agile development methodologies, with excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and teamwork across multiple development teams Ability to decompose complex systems into functional parts, with clearly defined interfaces and requirements for each Working knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle Written communication skills Knowledge and experience with process development Preferred: Experience with integration and certification of components in military and civilian mission systems Experience with safety critical certification process Experience with cyber controls and cybersecurity certification process General working knowledge of various government reference architectures (GRAs) Familiarity with various Model Based Systems Engineering views (i.e. DoDAF, SAIC, etc) Knowledge of the OMS/UCI standard Knowledge of the FACE standard OMG-Certified SysML Professional (OCSMP) or INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certified Ll-hybrid Ll-remote Estimated Starting Salary Range: $108,496.89 - $149,183.22.
