System Desktop Engineer - Apex Systems : Job Details

Responsibilities

• To research, evaluate, design, implement, and maintain system and product solutions, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
• Develop and maintain working knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager to provide engineering and technical support focused on End User Computing.
• To provide technical direction and engineering support for projects and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain advanced functional knowledge of evolving IT engineering industry technologies/competition, concepts, and trends.
• Apply engineering principles into the design and enhancement of new and existing systems.
• Perform engineering tasks and assignments in support of business needs.
• Perform engineering technology research, procurement, deployment, and configuration for new and modified systems.
• Present clear, organized, and concise information to all audiences to enable effective business decisions.
• Adhere to internal process and detailed procedures to support engineering functions.
• Research solutions and provide functional and technical evaluations of products and upgrades.
• Develop automated procedures for testing, configuration, and implementation of desktops.
• Monitor the performance of desktop systems, including Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
• Lead and manage endpoint-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Drive technical leadership behind the building, testing, and documentation of all workstation and endpoint build standards.
• Develop and implement innovative endpoint strategies to enhance user experience and productivity.
• Monitor the performance of endpoint devices and systems, implementing improvements as necessary to maintain optimal functionality.
• Support the development of processes and procedures related to PC lifecycle management including procurement, break/fix support, disposal, and asset tracking.
• Maintain thorough documentation of all configuration reporting and system measurables.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building, customizing, and deploying operating systems for Windows 10 and 11
• 5+ years of experience developing desktop deployment task sequences using desktop deployment tools, including Microsoft SCCM/MECM or Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
• 3+ years of experience with PowerShell scripting
• Must have an Active DoD Security Clearance
