POSITION SUMMARY:The System Engineer 3 is responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization's systems infrastructure. This includes the implementation and design of hardware and software and monitoring the performance of systems. This role is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The System Engineer 3 performs a variety of tasks, may lead and direct the work of others, and has a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Administers a complex site alone or assists in the administration of a larger site.
- Initiates new responsibilities and helps to plan the overall future design of the site/network.
- Performs system audits to ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
- Mentors and trains System Engineers.
- Evaluates and/or recommends purchases; has strong influence on purchasing process.
- ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: 4-6 yrs Linux experience, Preference SUSE
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:- Regular computer work, and sitting
- Occasional walking, standing, and lifting
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
- Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
