Mujin is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controls Integration Engineer who can provide integration support for robotic system solutions. As a Controls Integration Engineer at Mujin, you will collaborate with a world-class team of doers and dive into challenging technical problems to deliver our solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the integration of control systems within our organization, ensuring seamless operation and efficiency. This role requires a combination of engineering knowledge, problem solving, curiosity, innovation, leadership, and communication. You will play a critical role in deployment and integration for robotic application in warehouse and logistics, providing remote and onsite support. Responsibilities:
- Lead and support Integration of an industrial robots, AGV's, demo cells, end effectors, cameras, lighting, Mujin robot controllers, and vision systems for our clients
- Support installation and configuration of Mujin robot controller and other material handling equipment at customer sites
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the compatibility of system designs and ensure that our product meet the customer requirements
- Perform remote maintenance using the Mujin controller to maintain and monitor production assets.
- Conduct control system tests, commissioning, and maintain technical documentation related to system integration
- You will be part of an interdisciplinary technical team that proves the validates our solution and drives the testing and delivery to our customers
- Ensure all systems adhere to industry standards and safety regulations as well as customer requirements
- Provide quality assurance, installation inspection, and commissioning reports that support satisfaction of all key system checks
- Execute / support the following testing of products on site: Factory Acceptance Testing, System Integration Testing, System Throughput Testing, System Acceptance Testing, High volume testing (customer specific), Customer Vendor Qualification (as needed)
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure correct install and commissioning of product
- Support Punchlist items as needed on site (quality issues, technical issues during install - Ensuring product works correctly)
- Manage / update the customer on project deliverables and testing
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in robotics, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field
- 3+ years of engineering experience, preferably in material handling and logistics automation
- Control system commissioning experience, and ability to generate electrical drawings
- Experience in AutoCAD/E-Plan or similar CAD package for the creation of wiring diagrams and schematics
- Experience in the design and/or assembly of Robotic systems, AC/DC circuits, Servo motor controls, and conveyors
- Experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting - Allen Bradley, Siemen, etc.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 50% of the year, as required by project demands
Preferred:
- Hands-on experience with six and seven-axis robot arm task creation for material handling equipment's
- 3+ years of experience coding programmable logic controllers in relevant software (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, etc.)
- Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Coding proficiency in C++, Python, and other languages using Linux
- Work experience in design, research, and/or development in a manufacturing related company
- Familiar with industrial safety best practices regarding robotic systems
- Experience with compressed air systems and air capacity sizing
