System Verification Engineer - Apex Systems : Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to support the development of commercially viable, safe, and efficient autonomous transport solutions for US highway applications.

This engineer will be responsible for supporting commercial vehicle applications from satellite offices in West Forth Worth, South Fort Worth and the main office in Fort Worth. These terminals are full offices close to the highway for support of commercial vehicles.

We are looking for an engineer with embedded systems experience who can implement small changes on harnesses, install and build new hardware, replace sensors, controllers, antennas, analyze data on vehicle networks, log information and send back to developers.

Responsibilities:

• Performs software and hardware updates for test vehicles.
• Performs root cause analysis for functional problems identified.
• Performs measurements in various points of the electrical system and logs the vehicle data that is needed for troubleshooting.
• Supports with problem resolution by teaming up with the development engineers as needed for specific problems.
• Recommends solutions and provides feedback to development teams both locally and globally.
• Issues problem reports for defects identified in vehicle's electrical and electronic systems.
• Performs test activities in support of road approval process for every test vehicle that is planned to be used on public roads.
• Participates in design implementation by supporting with training and knowledge transfer activities.
• Updates databases used in fault tracing.
• Provides feedback regarding the test truck build process and proposes improvements especially in root cause analysis.

Experience:

• Specialist knowledge of various commercial vehicle systems and functions
• Expert knowledge of commercial vehicle CAN communication protocols and CAN analysis tools such as Vector CANalyzer
• Skilled with HIL
• Expert knowledge and experience with automotive electrical and electronics development and diagnostics tools
• Specialist knowledge and experience in vehicle controller software toolchain such as Engineering Tool, Prosit
• Experience with last generation sensor technology
• Experience with wiring harness manufacturing and repair tools
• Expert level commercial vehicle EE troubleshooting
