Job Description :

IT Systems Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of IT infrastructure components. IT System Administrators install hardware and software, participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of the organization. IT System administrators actively resolve problems and issues with IT infrastructure components to limit work disruptions within the company. Salary Grade (13) 76,101 - 97,030 - 117,958 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Install, configure, test and maintain infrastructure hardware, operating systems, application software, and system management tools
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Monitor and test infrastructure performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work to implement those fixes
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
  • Participate in the design and implementation of information and operational support systems
  • Provide general IT operations and user support
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24x7x365 support to meet business needs.
  • Develop & maintain accurate descriptive documentation including configuration as well as related processes and procedures to support & maintain a given solution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
In addition to the items above, Level II Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Level II: Has proven experience in most or all of the skill sets required for the position. Has notable technical skill sets for the current job and approaching subject matter expert level in most if not all of the required skills. Works with minimal guidance from supervisor on project, incident, problem, and change management job functions, and interacts with customers very effectively daily regarding those functions. This person is trusted by the customer and management and may on occasion be asked to provide formal structured presentations at that level.

  • Level I: should have earned a minimum of an associate degree in a related technical discipline and/or achieved industry certification equivalent to such a degree. In the absence of either, the applicable experience will be considered. Level I: should have at least 1-2 years of related experience
  • Level II: should possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline and/or achieved industry certification and demonstrated experience equivalent to such a degree. In the absence of either, the applicable experience will be considered. Level II: should have a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience
