Your role will include managing resources, troubleshooting user performance issues, handling system upgrades, and ensuring the security and recovery of virtual desktop components. You will also be involved in technical leadership and project management for key IS initiatives.Essential Functions and Responsibilities (50%)Your key responsibilities will include:
Design, build, and maintain all components of the virtual desktop infrastructure, extending beyond routine business hours when necessary.Monitor infrastructure resources including storage, CPU, memory, and virtual hosts.Update and manage virtual desktop golden images.Install and manage software using application virtualization technologies (e.g., App Volumes, ThinApp).Diagnose and troubleshoot end-user connection and performance issues, as well as hardware/software problems.Plan and facilitate system, hardware, and application upgrades and rollouts.Assist with the deployment of VDI endpoints and peripherals.Provide administration, maintenance, and technical support for assigned systems and service recovery.Develop, implement, and maintain security standards as directed by IS security policies.Create and maintain appropriate support documentation.Assist in disaster recovery planning for virtual desktop components.Provide technical and project leadership for IS initiatives.CompetenciesTo succeed in this role, you must demonstrate the following competencies:
