OverviewThis is a remote role that may only be hired in the following locations: NC, SC, NJ, FL, PA, GA, MI, TXThe candidate will be responsible for overall engineering and support of production and non-production environments for all software between OS stack and business application, which includes vendor and in-house based applications and platforms. This is a senior-level position on FCB's Enterprise Systems Engineering Team. Interaction with all layers of Infrastructure and Application Development teams is a necessity. Work will include project and operational tasks, with emphasis on coordination across teams. Responsibilities

  • Engineering and architecting enterprise grade middleware solutions. Investigating root cause on all layers of the OSI model.
  • Candidate should have experience in platform evaluation for performance and optimization, general troubleshooting and problem management skills, and ability to multi-task.
  • Responsibilities includes engineering, troubleshooting production issues, performing root cause analysis after incidents, tuning, and security analysis.
  • Ability to interface with off-shore team members for support of daily tasks and Train in required toolset to perform job functions.
  • Follow existing organizational and team processes while always looking for improvements.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance, anticipating and proactively responding to capacity, recovery, and business continuance issues.
  • Closely adhere to FCB's Service Desk, Change Management, and Security policies and procedures.
  • Provide off-hours support as needed.
  • Vulnerability remediation to the middleware applications.
  • Perform periodic Failover/DR testing and create plans.
  • Becomes part of a large team spread across different geographical locations, working at different time zones.
QualificationsBachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Systems engineering and Systems programming OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Systems engineering and systems programmingPreferred Skill(s):
  • Minimum 8+ years' experience in managing complex applications in IT environments, multi-server implementation.
  • Validating installed application and providing multi-tier application support by using system engineering best practices.
  • Familiar with middleware technologies and applications
  • Solid knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience utilizing PowerShell, Python or other scripting technologies to automate tasks
  • Exposure to Configuration Management and automation (Puppet, Ansible, Teraform etc.)
  • Basic networking, load balancing and micro segmentation knowledge for application engineering and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with hosting platforms like IIS, Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss
  • Proficient operating in a VMware based infrastructure.
  • Understanding and experience with Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher)
  • Knowledge of Automated deployment using Azure DevOps, create CI/CD process architecture and engineering.
  • Knowledge of Splunk and On-Boarding application onto Splunk.
  • Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Networking (DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience working for financial services or banking organizations is a plus
