Position Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Utilizes multidisciplinary engineering knowledge in areas such as aerospace, chemical, materials, mechanical, computer, electronics, and/or systems engineering to establish a culture of Science and Technology (S&T) Program Management (PM) excellence within AFRL
- Uses engineering and PM experience to assist in the development and maintenance of policies and processes that instill S&T PM cost, schedule and performance rigor and discipline within AFRL
- Works with AFRL Chief Engineers to establish PM policies, Cross-directorate PM processes, PM standards and metrics, and Tools and training important for successful S&T PM
- Works closely with AFRL HQ functional organizations to ensure the utilization of sound engineering and PM practices in S&T program planning, development and execution
- Provides guidance and assistance in establishing program baselines and conducting PM reviews
- Provides engineering expertise to AFRL acquisition strategy panels and multifunction independent review team activities as well as functional assistance to Inspector General Visit activities
- Provides technical expertise to the AFRL Digital Enterprise to facilitate incorporation of digital engineering practices across the enterprise
- Collaborates with SAF/AQR and AFRL/XPT on program transition and maintains schedule and briefing content for Research Master List programs briefed to the AFRL commander

Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- General Engineer (0801): To meet the eligibility of a General Engineer, applicants must meet the following basic requirements. Degree in Engineering. The program must have been ABET accredited. For a full description of the 0801 requirements, see the following Occupational Requirements here:
- Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lowest grade level or equivalent grade level of the position being advertised
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing
- Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov
Desired Qualifications
- Real-world Systems Engineering experience
- Experience in DAF systems acquisition, including SPO and R&D
- Experience managing AFRL programs utilizing best practices of Systems Engineering and Program Management
- Ability to work within a team structure, whether in organization or cross-organizational
- Expert communication skills to articulate and build consensus around path forward; and, to work with customers and other stakeholders
