This role also manages Microsoft Server and Linux environments to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.Essential Job Functions:
- Performs server administration for Microsoft Server and Linux environment;
- Implements and manages firewall configurations to secure virtualized environments;
- Utilizes Veeam for backup, recovery, and data protection within the cloud and on-premise systems;
- Ensures high availability, performance, and security of virtual and server systems;
- Develops automation scripts and tools using languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash;
- Troubleshoots and resolves server and virtual service issues effectively and efficiently;
- Collaborates with Architecture and Engineering teams to support application deployment and maintenance;
- Monitors system performance, conducts capacity planning, and implements necessary upgrades;
- Creates and maintains documentation for NOC systems, processes, and configurations;
- Stays current with the latest industry trends and technologies related to cloud computing and server administration;
- Ability to work on-call and respond to service escalations;
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends for support and deployments/upgrades.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, KVM);
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server and Linux administration;
- Knowledge of Veeam for backup and disaster recovery solutions;
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP;
- Knowledge of networking concepts and security best practices;
- Knowledge of cloud firewall configurations and management;
- Skill in coding and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash; Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) is a plus;
- Skill in problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure;
- Skill in communication and team collaboration;
- Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner;
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments.
Education and Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
