As part of this work, the Central Office Talent Acquisition team prioritizes building talent pipelines to ensure CPS has diverse, quality leaders, and educators throughout the District.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Central Office Recruitment Manager, the Talent Recruiter provides talent acquisition support to an assigned portfolio of Central Office departments. This entails full-cycle recruitment, including intake meetings with hiring managers, creating interview rubrics, guides, and trackers, as well as pre-screening qualified candidates, and scheduling candidate interviews with hiring managers.
The Talent Recruiter will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:
* Lead the Central Office talent acquisition practices to source high-quality and diverse talent in an assigned portfolio of departments
* Proactively utilize sourcing techniques to build diverse talent pipelines for hard-to-fill positions
* Source potential candidates using online platforms to build a robust candidate pool for hard to fill roles (e.g. professional networks and social media)
* Communicate CPS's unique value proposition to attract, engage, and retain key talent
* Identify and maintain partnerships with key colleges & universities, organizations and external partners to establish and expand talent pipelines
* Represent CPS at career fairs and events in order to compel top talent to join our district
Hiring Support
* Partner with hiring managers to identify their specific hiring needs, role requirements, candidate profiles, and define a tailored recruitment strategy
* Ensure interview panelists promote diversity and create an inclusive candidate experience
* Create various hiring resources such as rubrics, interview guides and candidate trackers to guide hiring decisions
* Conduct comprehensive application and phone screens to determine candidate qualifications and fit
* Serve as main point of contact for candidates throughout the interview process
* Own logistics including scheduling and interview preparation throughout the interview process
Data Management
* Track recruitment metrics to guide strategy and process efficiencies
* Analyze and report performance data and efficacy of sourcing strategies at an aggregate level
* Produce candidate summaries for C-Suite positions
* Manage the Taleo system data integrity and accuracy by auditing postings and performing routine data cleanups
Operational Support
* Identify, recommend, and implement operational improvements to streamline recruitment processes and increase efficiency
* Attend and assist with the logistics, coordination and execution of recruitment events and fairs, as needed
* Provide training on Taleo and recruiting/hiring best practices for departments in assigned portfolio, as needed
* Support Talent Team on additional ad hoc projects as necessary
In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Talent Recruiter must possess the following qualifications:
Education Required:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Experience Required:
* Minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience in a talent acquisition and/or human resources required, specifically supporting full-cycle recruitment all levels within an organization highly preferred
* Experience coordinating or leading recruitment efforts, human resources functions, and/or related supporting work
* Experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) highly preferred
* Bilingual - Spanish speaking highly preferred

Conditions of Employment
As a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to:
* Establish/Maintain Chicago Residency - Employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district. The Chicago residency requirement does not apply to temporary/part-time positions, however, all CPS employees must be residents of Illinois.
* Be Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19 - Unless approved for a medical or religious exemption, all employees are required to be up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations, including boosters, and to submit proof of vaccination to the district within 30 days of hire. Up-to-date on vaccination is defined as being at least two weeks past all primary vaccine doses and any applicable boosters.
