Tamper Operator - Lebanon, TN - R J Corman Railroad Group : Job Details

Responsibilities:o Operate Specialized equipment. (i.e. Mark IV Tamper.)o Performs preventative maintenance on heavy or specialized equipment.o Maintains proper equipment appearance and cleanliness.o May perform labor duties as needed.o Communicates with supervisor throughout the job process.o Practices safe working habits.o Ensures working conditions are safe and that proper PPE is being used as job dutiesrequire.o Follow DOT regulations; ensuring proper permits and driving regulations are followed.o Safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment as needed.o Promote a safe work environment.Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience:o Railroad construction experience preferred, but not required.o Ability to communicate well with co-workers, customers, and supervisors.o Ability to operate power tools.o Computer experience preferred.o Must be mechanically inclinedo Have a working knowledge of hydraulics/electronics.Physical Requirements: Mobility to participate in frequent travel to and from the project location; ability tooperate heavy equipment; Agility to navigate into confined spaces if necessary.Environmental Conditions: Performs duties in multiple environments including outside construction project settings,in and around moving vehicles and equipment. Exposure to weather elements; must wearappropriate PPE required for the project site.Benefits:R.J.
