Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday + when requested for inventory at EOM
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Tasting Room Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our tasting room. The Tasting Room Manager is responsible for ensuring an exceptional guest experience, managing staff, increasing sales, and maintaining the overall presentation and ambiance of the tasting room. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for wine/beer/spirits, excellent leadership skills, and a strong background in hospitality or retail management.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience & Customer Service:
- Deliver an exceptional and educational experience for all guests.
- Manage tastings, tours, and special events to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
Sales & Marketing:
- Develop and implement strategies to drive tasting room sales and increase revenue.
- Promote wine club memberships, events, and special promotions.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute tasting room promotions and social media campaigns.
Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, and manage tasting room staff, ensuring high standards of performance and customer service.
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure coverage during business hours, events, and peak seasons.
- Foster a positive work environment and provide ongoing training in product knowledge and sales techniques.
Inventory & Financial Management:
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and controlling stock levels.
- Track and report on sales, margins, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Manage tasting room expenses, budgets, and cash flow to meet financial targets.
Operational Management:
- Ensure that the tasting room is clean, organized, and stocked at all times.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, licensing requirements, and company policies.
- Coordinate with vendors for supplies, decor, and tasting room maintenance needs.
Event Coordination:
- Plan and manage on-site and off-site events, including private tastings, corporate events, and special occasions.
- Collaborate with event staff and ensure seamless execution of events.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a hospitality or retail management role, preferably within the wine/beer/spirits industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage customers and foster long-term relationships.
- Knowledge of wine, beer, or spirits (certifications such as WSET, Cicerone, or equivalent preferred).
- Sales-driven with a track record of achieving financial goals and increasing revenue.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and during special events.
- Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
