**Job Overview**

TAX AND ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE

DIRECT HIRE: FULL TIME

LOCATION: ONSITE IN DUBUQUE

SALARY: $55K-$62K/YEAR

RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Complete various general ledger activities including bank and account reconciliations, adjusting entries, and sales tax reporting

+ Payroll preparation and payroll tax reporting

+ Prepare federal and state business and individual income tax returns

+ Prepare interim financial statements

+ Maintain client depreciation schedules

+ Assist clients with accounting questions

+ Maintain client relationships

+ Prepare tax plans and year-end financial statements

+ Conduct face-to-face tax interviews with clients

+ Remain up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law

+ Generate business growth with existing and new clients

+ Support office priorities through teamwork and collaboration

+ Work with clients and firm members to ensure timely completion of projects

REQUIREMENTS:

+ Bachelors degree in accounting

+ The position is full-time with additional hours required during tax season

+ Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance

+ Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Intuit QuickBooks

+ Excellent communication skills

+ Keen attention to detail

+ Ability to learn new software programs

+ Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

+ Ability to work effectively on a team
