We currently have an opportunity for a Tax Manager in East Elmhurst, NY or Miami, FL. The Tax Manager will be responsible for the tax affairs of OHLA USA, covering all aspects of taxation including tax compliance, reporting, tax risk management, and tax support to business operations. This role will report directly to the Head of Accounting.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the US Group meets and maintains all tax compliance requirements across all the relevant taxes; corporation tax (including tax consolidation), indirect tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing and employment taxes.
* Oversee and manage the preparation and review of all federal, state, local, and international tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
* Lead and handle tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
* Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate and advise management on the potential impacts of tax changes.
* Responsible for managing the Group's tax risks, maintaining a tax risk register and documenting tax controls across the Group.
* Managing external tax service provider workflow.
* Coordinating with accounting and finance departments in the US and at headquarters to gather/provide information required for compliance reporting requirements.
* Communicating with accounting and finance departments to ensure timely filing and reporting of tax-related items.
* Identifying and implementing tax function improvements and best practices, to ensure the most efficient process for timely reporting and filing.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
* Master's degree in taxation
* CPA certification preferred
* 15+ years' experience of tax compliance, preparation and advisory experience
* Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
* Working knowledge and understanding of the US Construction industry preferred
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills
* Experience using large ERP systems. Strong Excel skills
* Ability to prioritize and multitask under various deadlines
* Spanish language skills is a plus

USD $160,000.00/Yr.
