Job DetailsResponsibilities:
- Prepare individual tax returns, including 1031 exchanges, NOLs, installment sales, multi-state income sourcing, and AMT computations (preferences like taxes, depreciation, and gains/losses).
- Identify tax savings opportunities and potential multi-state issues.
- Prepare business entity tax returns, including:
- Multi-state apportionment, related-party transactions, NOLs, partnership debt allocation, capital account maintenance, mid-year ownership changes, and AAA reconciliation (S corporations).
- Address formation/dissolution issues and identify tax-saving strategies.
- Independently prepare tax returns and related work papers, adhering to policies and best practices.
- Perform in-depth tax research and respond to complex IRS correspondence.
- Assist with IRS audits, including correspondence audits, and represent clients effectively.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring deadlines and expectations are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or Finance (Master's preferred).
- Active CPA license or working toward CPA license preferred
- 2-3+ years of public accounting experience with increasing complexity in tax preparation.
- Exposure to clients in a variety of industries. We are looking for an industry generalist.
