The Pinoleville Native American Head Start Program has been in operation for more than 25 years. The program now consists of 7 classrooms serving children from 0-5 years old. Our Head Start program is a cornerstone of our commitment to nurturing the growth and development of our children, ensuring they receive a strong educational foundation rooted in our traditions, values, and language.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Start Teacher who is eager to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young children within our community. As a Head Start Teacher, you will create a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, while also instilling pride in their cultural identity.

Starting Pay: $22/hr.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a culturally enriched curriculum that celebrates and preserves the local Pomo culture.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that accommodates the diverse needs of each child, fostering a love for learning.
  • Build strong partnerships with families to support children's development, including regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and involvement in classroom activities.
  • Organize and participate in cultural events and celebrations at the school, fostering a sense of unity among students, families, and staff.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and observations to track children's progress and tailor teaching strategies to meet individual needs.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education/ Child Development or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for working with young children and fostering their development.
  • Must pass FBI Fingerprint clearance and pre-employment drug test.
