The Team Lead ensures that our members and team members are provided with an environment that is clean, safe, and enjoyable. This role is part of the club Leadership team and focuses on the success and profitability through leadership and member service that achieves positive member and employee retention, drives sales efforts and controls operating expenses.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - WHAT YOU WILL DO:Provide a safe and well-maintained environment through correct implementation of safety and operating policies and proceduresResponsible for following and ensuring club team understands and adheres to the cleanliness standardsAssist in building our community of members through a consistent member experienceModel team member behaviors to increase Net Memberships through achieving goals, improving retention, and driving ancillary revenueManage existing club schedules in partnership with the General Manager and address coverage needs due to absencesServe as an ambassador for the team and communicate feedback from the team to General ManagerUnderstand club operations and able to cover shifts and give direction when necessary and in the absence of the General Manager and/or Assistant General ManagerAssist with training of new and current team members and ensure communication cascades as needed • Support club team with marketing initiatives, programs, and social media accounts at the club level to generate retention and conversion • Assist the General Manager to achieve club financial performancePartners with General Manager to maintain Club supplies inventory and stock levelsAssist in identifying positive trends and areas of opportunityWhen not acting as manager on duty, expected to regularly cover shifts in other operating roles of the club including Welcome Desk, Custodial or Kids Zone/Kids ClubAdditional supportive duties when acting as manager on duty:Address team member schedule issuesLead club operations to ensure member expectations are metDrive sales, especially during weekendsPerform additional duties and responsibilities assignedRevised 10.01.2023RequirementsREQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS - WHO YOU ARE:High School Diploma or GED required, college degree in business, retail or hospitality desiredPassion for helping others achieve their goalsPrior supervisory experience in a service industry preferredDesired knowledge, experience, and understanding of fitness including equipment, personal training, and group fitnessThrive in a fast-paced environmentRisk Management orientedFlexible/positive attitude in meeting and exceeding members expectationsExcellent communication skills, work well under pressure and time constraints and displays positive behavior in all member contactsExcellent task completion and follow-through skills and ability to maintain focus in a sometimes hectic and evolving environment • Attend and participate in required meetings and trainings as neededAbility to travel occasionally for company meetings and based on business needsWilling and able to work a flexible shift: evenings, weekends, and holidaysBilingual skills a plusCPR/AED certification required within first 30 days of hireTEAM PERKS:Free health club membershipCasual work environmentDiscount on in club retail items and any current vendor partner offerings (NASM, etc)Opportunity for growth; professional developmentWORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and stand up to 8 hours/day and/or sitting for extended period of time. Employees are occasionally required to use hands and fingers for handle or feel; occasional reach, push and pulling with arms and hands; occasional climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and occasional reach and twist, including side-to-side movements.
