Tax Specialist - Remote FlexibilityOne of the leading hedge funds in Boston is looking for a detail-focused Tax Specialist to become part of our tax team. This position aids tax operations for our funds, comprising both onshore and offshore master-feeder arrangements. Collaborating closely with the Tax Senior, you will assist in ensuring precision, compliance, and punctual delivery of tax documents. Responsibilities:

• Calculate partnership taxable income, book and tax allocations, tax estimates, schedule K-1s, and tax returns
• Support month-end close processes and reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Identify book-to-tax differences, including wash sales, PFICs, bond bifurcation, and accretion/amortization
• Document tax and accounting policies; assess and improve reporting processes and systems
• Participate in special projects, operational improvements, and ad hoc analysis

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• CPA or MST in progress preferred
• 1-3 years of tax work in public accounting, ideally with financial institutions (Big 4 or national CPA firm experience preferred)
• Exposure to taxation of financial products, hedge/mutual funds, or investment companies; familiarity with fixed income securities and complex financial instruments
• Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with Total Return accounting (SS&C Globe-Op platform) a plus
