Job Description :

A nonprofit organization in New York City is currently seeking an experienced, licensed professional (LCSW/LMHC/PhD/PsyD) to join their growing staff as their new Team Leader / Program Director to oversee a Multidisciplinary Behavioral Health team in Central Harlem. In this role, the Team Leader / Program Director (LCSW/LMHC/PhD/PsyD) will be responsible for focusing on supervising staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to individuals with complex behavioral health and justice-related needs.

About the Opportunity:

  • Assignment Length: Contract to perm
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: Flexible (35 hour per week)
  • Fieldwork: 80% field-based across NYC boroughs
  • Setting: Office, community, hospitals, shelters, jails, etc.

Responsibilities:

The Team Leader / Program Director will be responsible for:

  • Supervising and developing a 9-member multidisciplinary behavioral health team
  • Ensuring adherence to program requirements and best practices for client care
  • Overseeing clinical operations, including treatment planning and crisis management
  • Managing the program budget to maintain fiscal viability
  • Ensuring adherence to program requirements and best practices for client care
  • Collaborating with external stakeholders to support client outcomes
  • Promoting trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and culturally sensitive services
  • Performing other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Leadership / Supervisory experience in a Behavioral Health setting
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Active NYS licensure in one of the following: LCSW, LMHC, PhD, or PsyD
  • Experience working with adults facing Mental Health challenges, Substance Use, Homelessness, Trauma, or Justice Involvement
  • Experience in multidisciplinary and field-based clinical work
  • Solid assessment and documentation skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized

Desired Skills:

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Experience working with Justice-involved populations
  • Working knowledge of Foodholds AWARDS
  • Individuals with lived experience
