Plan, organize, communicate and monitor department resources to achieve effective utilization of employees, equipment, and material. Assure personnel compliance to safety, regulatory, and quality requirements. Monitor personnel and area to observe unfavorable trends through utilization of Visual Management and observations. Communicate discrepancies and solicit support as needed. Determine task performance/skill requirements. Evaluate employee skill levels through utilization of the training skills matrixes, focus training plans on deficiencies, and reinforce employee development and training. Create area metrics and reports concerning activities of assigned department. Through standardized huddle meetings, area learning clocks and visual management, communicate and reinforce goals and the performance of the area including any changes to policies, etc. Maintain established employee relations policies and safety/health regulations.
