- CUERO REGIONAL HOSPITAL IS SEARCHING FOR A PRN HIM TECH/OUTPATIENT CODER IN OUR HIM DEPARTMENT
- The Medical Records Tech/Outpatient Coder will be responsible for all clerical and outpatient coding functions.
- He/She is responsible for gathering all charts from floors daily.
- They will code all records associated with outpatient ancillary services, clinical lab, Ambulatory Care, and Physical Therapy.
- The employee is expected to be proficient in ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- They are responsible for abstracting all data into the Meditech system and using 3M software to code.
- They are responsible for analyzing charts and flagging for deficiencies and assigning to physicians for completion.
- They are Responsible for obtaining appropriate consents for the proper release of medical information.
- Assists with mail, walk in and fax requests for records.
- Answers multi line telephone in prompt and courteous manner.
- Greets and assists employees from other departments in locating records.
- Acts as back up birth registrar when needed, and obtains annual education for compliance.
- Assists with scanning and portal phone calls when needed. Able to multitask and meet productivity standards.
- Associates Degree or LVN with coding certification required
- RHIT, RHIA, RN OR LVN WITH CCS preferred
- Two year in hospital or clinic setting required
- Proficient Computer and Typing Skills
- Positive, Compassionate and Customer Service Oriented
- Able to Multi-Task
