Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail oriented Technical Design Associate to join the Apiece Apart team with a specific focus on Wovens (Shirts, Bottoms, Dresses, Outerwear, Blazers), Denim, Sweaters, Cut & Sew).

Role & Responsibilities:

DEVELOPMENT:

  • Assist TD team with Design handoffs by initializing technical packets including complete of Lead Page, selection of POMs, Construction Details and photographing and Specing any reference styles received during handoff
  • Assist Design team with the specing, technical packet prep and steaming for all Proto stages
  • Work alongside PD Manager to track proto samples and update Sr. Technical Design Director
  • Travel to domestic pattern-makers and factories to hand off or receive samples as needed
  • Responsible for documentation of all technical comments during Development Technical fittings
  • Assist in minor alterations during seasonal SMS market prep
  • Manage tracking of all SMS samples, spec and steam for line review

PRODUCTION:

  • Responsible for the tracking of production samples and communication with factories to ensure sample arrival is on time
  • Management of all production samples prior to fittings, including specing, tp updates and steaming
  • In charge of documenting all fit comments during production fittings
  • Responsible for adding in all images and comments to technical packets post fittings
  • Responsible for completing fit comments of assigned product
  • Handles all TOP approval comments and communication of status to factories
  • Will assist TD team with pattern corrections and /or draping for selected styles
  • Responsible for the creation and management of the Product Knowledge Chart and informing key team members when their portion is needed

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of relative work experience
  • A background in Apparel Technical Design (Applicants without TD experience will not be considered)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; degree in Fashion or related field preferred
  • Creative and collaborative
  • Strong organizational, communication and time management skills
  • Highly motivated team player with the ability to build relationships both internally and externally
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
