Technical Manager
Position Type: Direct Hire
Position Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Position Salary: $100,000 – $137,000 (Depending on Experience)
Responsibilities:
- The Technical Manager provides management and oversite of the plant's quality and environmental systems.
- Directs Quality Management System to implement quality systems, procedures, and methods.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with quality policies, procedures, and related customer and regulatory requirements.
- Track, analyze, and lead initiatives for internal quality and customer complaint issues.
- Advises managers of specific quality issues or trends and works to ensure systems are in place to meet/exceed customer expectations.
- Work closely with department managers to maximize product quality and reliability while minimizing cost.
- Coordinate and execute investigations of detected product risks, failures, complaints, and corrective/preventative actions.
- Work with customers, customer service, sales, and plant personnel to establish technical requirements for the products and services provided while resolving customer complaints effectively and efficiently.
- Identifies, investigates, and reports on critical quality defects for in-process and finished products. Evaluates seriousness of defect, determines source of quality variance, and specifies corrective measures.
- Oversees facility Test Labs, equipment calibrations/maintenance, document/management reviews, and employee training as it relates to the Quality.
- Act as the Technical contact for Local, State, and Federal environmental agencies.
- Interact with company management and plant personnel to communicate on-going environmental compliance requirements, identify concerns, and when needed, implement corrective actions, Provide oversight to maintain local Material Safety Data Sheet electronic system.
- Interface with Local, State, and Federal agency personnel to stay informed of all existing and proposed environmental regulations and their potential impact on operations.
- Perform monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting activities to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations for all pertinent environmental programs.
- Lead/Manage all internal and external regulatory compliance audits and oversee all required follow-up corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental compliance monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting activities to ensure compliance with local, state and federal requirements, areas of activities include air, wastewater, storm water, solid and hazardous waste, SPCC, CERCLA/EPCRA, TSCA, and FDA.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical background or similar type of background; Higher Education is a plus
- 5-10+ years of experience in project management and leadership of teams
- Experience managing a Quality management systems is a must for this role
- Lean Six Sigma Green belt or Black belt is required for this role
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations is a plus
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are required for the role
