Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Technical Sales Executive at Shotwell Hydrogenics. based in Midland, Texas. The Technical Sales Executive will be responsible for sales activities, developing strategies to achieve sales targets, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and providing technical expertise on the company's products and services. Some remote work is acceptable in this role.

Job Description:

Summary/Objective

The Sales Representative is responsible for acquiring new customers and driving revenue growth in the upstream and midstream oil and gas markets. Reporting directly to the President, this role will focus on expanding Shotwell's business in an assigned territory or buying center. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree, experience in a related role, established customer relationships, and a strong drive to excel in the industry.

Essential Functions

  • Customer Acquisition and Account Management:
  • Identify, target, and acquire new customers in the completions and production markets.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients to understand their operational challenges and needs.
  • Manage an assigned territory or customer portfolio to maximize sales opportunities and customer satisfaction.
  • Sales and Revenue Generation:
  • Achieve or exceed monthly and annual sales targets by promoting upstream chemical solutions.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans tailored to client needs and market trends.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of sales opportunities through effective prospecting, lead generation, and deal closure.
  • Technical Expertise and Consultation:
  • Leverage in-depth knowledge of chemical solutions for completions and production applications to provide technical guidance to customers.
  • Analyze customer production challenges and propose effective treatment solutions to enhance well performance, production rates, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with customers to optimize chemical programs for well remediation, scale inhibition, corrosion control, and other key applications.

Proposal and Treatment Design:

  • Prepare and present detailed treatment proposals, including product recommendations, application methods, and expected production enhancement outcomes.
  • Utilize technical data, case studies, and field results to justify proposed solutions.
  • Work closely with internal teams to tailor chemical treatment programs to specific well and reservoir conditions.
  • Field Support and Testing:
  • Coordinate field visits to collect samples, monitor chemical applications, and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment programs.
  • Provide on-site technical support during implementation to ensure proper application and adherence to customer expectations.
  • Analyze post-treatment production data and recommend adjustments to improve performance.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams:
  • Coordinate with R&D, product development, and technical teams to stay informed about new chemical technologies and product capabilities.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to communicate feedback, identify product improvements, and resolve issues.
  • Work with marketing and customer service teams to support promotional efforts and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Market Awareness and Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory requirements, and competitive products in the oil and gas sector.
  • Attend trade shows, industry events, and training sessions to maintain expertise in chemical solutions and market dynamics.
  • Provide regular feedback to management on market conditions, customer preferences, and emerging opportunities.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, sales activities, and treatment performance in CRM software.
  • Provide weekly sales forecasts and pipeline updates to management.
  • Document all treatment proposals, post-treatment analyses, and customer communications to ensure traceability and accountability.

Ethical and Professional Conduct:

Uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and customer service in all interactions.

Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.

Travel and Availability:

Travel to customer locations, well sites, and field offices as required to build relationships and support sales efforts.

Maintain availability to address customer needs promptly, ensuring 24/7 support when necessary.

Work Environment

The Technical Sales Representative operates in a remote environment within a designated basin, such as Midland, TX. The role involves regular use of standard office equipment and occasional field visits to meet customers, collect samples, or support field operations.

Physical Demands

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience generating consistent sales growth. A Brag Book showcasing past achievements is a plus.

Additional Terms:

  • Sales prices require pre-approval based on the approved cost structure.
  • A year-to-date commission statement (TriNet) will be provided monthly.
  • Expenses related to sales efforts will be reimbursed in accordance with company policies.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Experience in completion and production chemical sales within the oil and gas industry is required.
