Job Description: Technical Software Development

Length of Assignment: 6 Months

Salary: $80.00

Work Hours: Core hours, day shift, 8 hours per day

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (50% onsite and 50% remote)

  • Onsite schedule: Flexible within core hours of 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
  • Remote schedule: Flexible within the same core hours

Role Summary:

Technical Software Development applies advanced skills to implement leading-edge technologies and enhance the technical software development process. This role involves mentoring less senior developers and providing leadership in technical excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the business or function for which the application is designed and capable of operating unsupervised, consulting on complex design projects, and driving value creation across the engineering organization.

This position will also focus on sustaining legacy systems and software, supporting new hardware and equipment, and ensuring efficient fleet operations while minimizing delays on high-profile projects like the Next Generation Cementing Trailer and the Hybrid Cementing Trailer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement innovative technologies to improve technical software development processes.
  • Sustain and enhance legacy systems and software critical to the operation of CMT equipment.
  • Mentor less experienced developers, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Direct and monitor the work of programming personnel on large-scale development projects, including participation in design and milestone reviews.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve both software and electrical issues to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Conceive, propose, and advocate for new ideas and products, guiding their implementation to final delivery.
  • Provided technical direction on major products, influencing designs that span multiple teams and impacting hardware decisions.
  • I'd like you to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new hardware with existing systems.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Top Skills Needed:

  • National Instruments LabVIEW proficiency: Strong experience in creating and maintaining LabVIEW applications.
  • Electrical Assembly or Design: Demonstrated ability to design or assemble electrical systems.
  • Electrical or Computer Engineering: Strong technical foundation in electrical or computer engineering principles.
  • Additional Requirements:

    • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
    • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Hands-on experience with electrical hardware in addition to software programming.
    • Ability to troubleshoot both hardware and software issues in real time.

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least 7 years of relevant experience; or 11 years of software development experience instead of a degree.
    • Master's degree in Computer Science or a similar discipline is preferred
