Student Technical SpecialistRequisition IDreq30968Working TitleTechnical SpecialistPay$16.00 HourlyCampusMain - Albuquerque, NMDepartmentIT Applications (324A)Employment TypeStudent EmploymentStudent TypeStatusNon-ExemptBackground Check RequiredNoFor Best Consideration Date9/27/2024Position SummaryTheInformation Technologies (IT) Applications Division is hiring for our technicaland end-user training team.You willbe working with people from all over the university to develop and publishtraining documentation and videos explaining the latest new systems to UNM businessoffices and the University community.Thisis an easy and interesting way to develop a professional portfolio ofmultimedia materials.Youwill work closely with customers and technical staff to develop trainingmaterials for various applications and geared toward various user populations.You must have a good attitude, a great workethic, and genuinely excellent communication skills (both verbal andwritten).We are looking for teamplayers - personable, detail-oriented self-starters who are able to managetheir workload and work with different people on different projectssimultaneously.Must be comfortablewith technology but no particulartechnical skills are required beyond those mentioned below.Years of experience are less important thanyour aptitude, attitude, and ability to master new concepts and situations.Ifyou are organized, like to be busy and get things done, and like learning newthings all the time, this is the position for you!Pleasenote that the resume and writing sample are required for consideration.Minimum QualificationsEnrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.Preferred QualificationsMinimum Qualifications - Applicants must be:-Enrolledin a degree seeking program at UNM-Enrolledat least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audithours do not count)-IfWork Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress-Organized,thorough, and detail-oriented -Notafraid of technology, able to teach yourself how to use new applications,able to figure things out, not afraid to ask questions, and able to know whento ask for help-Flexibleand able to adapt to occasional changes in assignments and prioritiesIn addition, applicants must possess:-Excellentwritten and verbal communications skills -Excellentteamwork and interpersonal skills -Strongwork ethic and sense of responsibility -Abilityto work with minimal supervision -HighMS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint skills.
