Job Title: Technical Specialist FLSA Status: Exempt, salaried Driver: Yes Job Summary Production chemical program design, product research and development. Expectations - Designs and develops cutting edge chemical solutions. Self-motivated, organized and effective communicator. Requires little supervision Essential Duties - other duties as assigned Analyzes current chemical solutions for effectiveness Provide technical assistance to customers Provides technical training to employees Prepare reports, write technical papers and give technical presentations Product research, design and qualification Collaborates on preparing RFP's Model chemical systems and solutions Design and perform product testing and simulations Works closely with engineering and laboratory teams Special projects as assigned Work well independently and as a team Provides excellent customer service Qualifications Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field. Minimum 3 years of production or completion chemical technical experience required. Strong background in flow assurance and asset integrity chemical programs. Experience in chemical program design, implementation and monitoring, and product research, design and qualification. Fundamentals of oil and gas systems, including downhole and surface equipment. Certifications/Licenses: None Driving Requirements: Valid driver's license - some travel (field work) expected. Physical Requirements - Lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds chest high, short distances. Must be able to reach, push, pull, and grasp with arms and hands. Will require daily standing, crouching and/or kneeling, sitting, and walking. Must be able to talk, hear, see and smell. Work Environment - Some field work which includes exposure to outdoor weather and the elements. Field and indoor laboratory conditions to include potential exposure to harmful chemicals, dust, odors, fumes, oil and gases, although this type of work is conducted under a fume hood. Noise level is typically moderate, occasionally loud. Financial Skills - Understands the financial implications of business decisions. Language Skills - Ability to read, interpret and understand documents such as safety rules, safety data sheets (SDS's), operating instructions and procedure manual. English language fluency in reading, writing and speaking. Computer Skills - Efficiently navigate a web browser, mobile applications, Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Excel, Teams, Word, SharePoint, One Note, Access, etc.). Proficiency in designing spreadsheets, creating advanced formulas, charts and tables required. Must be able to design professional presentations. Other Skills - Strong technical writing and effective communication skills (both written and oral) are required. Work Ethic - Be trustworthy, dependable, respectful, and truthful with a commitment to safety and excellent customer service.
