Summary

The ERP Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing ERP maintenance support through the life of the ERP implementation project. Under the general supervision of the ERP Technical Manager, this position provides support using a variety of technical tools; develops technical specifications and document programs; works with functional and technical staff; supports applicable fixes, upgrades and installations in collaboration with system administrators; producing deliverables to ensure quality and expectations for standards are met.

This position is a full-time temporary position. Expected end date of temporary employment is June 30, 2029.

Essential Functions

* Test, check, and debug programs to eliminate errors and deficiencies.

* Gather and organize information on problems or procedures; document existing processes and systems and analyzes data for possible improvements; recommend new or revised systems.

* Prepare reports summarizing findings, alternatives, and recommendations.

* Assist with the implementation of new or modified software applications.

* Perform research to resolve technical questions and problems related to the application in question.

* May act as project leader for special projects.

* Research, design and develop complex technical procedural and/or software solutions.

* Prepare written procedures, system specifications, programming guidelines, and other necessary documentation.

* Confer with other Technology Services personnel in resolving problems involving program content, input/output requirements, and other procedural and technical matters.

* Modify and/or write applications programming code as needed.

* Provide technical assistance to others as needed.

* Load and modify application data through various system utilities.

* Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

* Associate's degree in a technology-related field and 3 years of related experience, OR bachelor's degree in technology-related field and 1 year of related experience.

* At least 1 year of coursework or experience with software development tools, scripting languages, and technical development and administration.

* Demonstrated ability to translate needs analysis data into technical designs.

* Strong knowledge of relational database concepts, principles and practices of computer programming, program testing and debugging methods, systems' requirements and compatibility, and developmental programming tools.

* Valid driver's license.

* Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.

Preferred Qualifications

* Training in programming, systems analysis and data communications.

* Experience working in higher education.
